Robert "Bob" J. Medlik, age 76, of Lake Station, IN and formerly of Burbank and Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Bob was born on March 1, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Ann (nee Baksinskis) Medlik. He was a graduate of Gage Park High School, Class of 1962. Bob proudly served in the Army National Guard and was activated during the 1968 riots in Downtown Chicago and during the Oak Lawn Tornado. He worked as a manager at Jewel Grocery store and as a landscaper for Innsbrook Country Club from 1991-2008 when he retired.
Bob was a member of the Moose Club in Bridgeview, IL and the Islander's Club. He enjoyed hunting but was an avid fisherman. Bob was a craftsman in woodworking, making many large projects over the years. He loved going to Cub's games, was a dog lover, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, dear uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol (nee Wesley); his two children: Michael (Vikki) Medlik and their children Katelyne and Emalee, and Kim (Kevin) Daniels and their children: Blake and Brooke; step sons: James Price and Daniel (Tracy) Price; step daughter: Kirsten Sutter sister: Georgiana (late Bob) Straka; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel (3781 Central Ave., Lake Station) on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 12:00-6:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Evonne Carter-Williams officiating. Cremation will follow.
