Robert V. "Bob" Janulis age 78, peacefully passed away May 15, 2024, at his home in Valparaiso. He was born December 14, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Chester and Alvina (nee Bornikis) Janulis. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command (SAC) where he was an Aircraft Mechanic on B-52 Bombers. Robert married Barbara Mochan May 12, 1973, in Gary, Indiana. He retired from US Steel, where he worked in the Transportation Department for 39 years. After retirement, Robert found his calling as a Valparaiso Public Schools bus driver for 14 years. He was a long-time member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Valparaiso. Robert enjoyed building radio-controlled model airplanes and was a proud member of the Midwest Sundowners model aircraft club. He enjoyed family vacations to Walt Disney World. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Janulis; daughter, Jennifer (Jody) Rodd; son, Michael (Shannon) Janulis; four grandchildren, Oliver Rodd, Alexis Rodd, Nicholas Janulis, and Madison Janulis; three sisters, Guynel Collett, Jolene Heiney, and Paulette Hartsell; and many other loving family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Chester Janulis and mother, Alvina Janulis.

A memorial service for Robert will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:30 pm; with visitation from 1:00pm until time of service directly at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 505 Bullseye Lake Road, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.
