Robert "Bob" Mccleary Wilson

Robert "Bob" McCleary Wilson, age 85, of Monticello passed away Sunday July 23, 2017 in his home with his loving wife at his side. Robert was born January 6, 1933 in Hammond, Indiana to the late William Donald and Margaret E. (McCleary) Wilson. Bob retired as a Cement Finishing Foreman for the Hunter Corporation. He was an honorary member of American Legion Post #454 in New Chicago. Bob will be missed by his family.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 67 1/2 years, Lora Wilson; five children, Robert Wilson of Louisville, KY, Larry Wilson of Lake Station, Roger Wilson of Monticello, Diana Padlo of Monticello and Helen (Richard) Bull of Lake Station; one daughter-in-law Doris Wilson of Valparaiso; fifteen grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; four and one half great-great grandchildren; and many more friends and relatives.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Glenn Wilson; one great grandson, Franklin Wilson; and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted 5:00 pm Saturday July 29, 2017 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, IN 46368 with Mr. Ted Mitchel officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 pm to service time at 5:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
