Robert F. Moats, age 76, of Portage passed away Friday May 1, 2015 at his home. He was born January 18, 1939 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Harold and Ruth (Hunt) Moats. Robert was 1999 retiree of Arcelor Mittal Steel that served 41 years in the Mechanical Pipe Shop. After retiring he work at DPL (Dental Professional Laboratory) as a delivery man.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Cynthia "Cindy" Moats; his three sons Gregory Moats of Port Townsend, WA, Todd (Judy) Moats of Westmont, IL and Kevin (Anita) Moats of Knoxville, TN; his one daughter Monica (James) Wolfe of Kingsport, TN; his seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Robert Moats, Jr.; and one brother Donald Moats.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana with Rev. Andrew J. Corona officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Porter County VNA Foundation.
