Robert D. Mullen, age 89, of Portage, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on November 23, 1930 to the late William and Leona (nee Markland) Mullen.  Robert retired from the Portage Township School System where he held many positions through the years, including Guidance Counselor.  He was a past long time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Portage.  He was an avid reader and loved to watch movies.  Robert will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and making people laugh.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Dina Johnson, Sharon (Daniel) Hunt; son, Mark (DeLynn) Mullen; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Mullen; brother, William Mullen; and his parents.

A private funeral service was entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.  He has been laid to rest at McCool Cemetery in Portage.  For more information, please call 219-762-3013.
