Robert "Bob" Pisarski, age 77, of Hobart, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015. Robert was born on June 20, 1938 to the late Joseph and Josephine (nee Butkiewicz) Pisarski in Gary, Indiana. Robert was raised by his older sister Pearl who loved him as her own son. He was a former member of Assumption B.V.M Church in New Chicago and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Valparaiso, Indiana. He served in the US Army reserves for 8 years, and was a retiree of Republic Steel Union Drawn Division of Gary with 30 years of service; he also worked at U.S. Steel in the Sheet and Tin Mill where he worked as a Motor Inspector for 15 years and as a security guard for ISM Security for the Port of Indiana. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, building his own computers and ham radios, and liked watching westerns. He was a Ham Radio Operator AB9SU and will be remembered as a great handyman with a great sense of humor. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 55yrs. Joan (nee Nemtuda) Pisarski; two sons Jim (Leah) Pisarski of Boynton Beach, Florida and Richard Pisarski of Hobart; two daughters, Denise Sempf of Hobart and Barbara Teeter of Chesterton; four grandchildren, David (Janel) Teeter of Munster, Holli Pisarski of Boynton Beach, Florida, Ryan and Nathan Pisarski of Hobart; 1 great grandson, Tristan Teeter; brother, Albert (Pat) Pisarski of Salome, Arizona; sister-in-law, Betty Pisarski of Valparaiso, many nieces and nephews and his yellow lab, Kody.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Frank, Alex, Edward, Walter, Raymond and Chester; three sisters, Apolonia "Pearl" Curtis-Pelka, Eleanor Labash , and Irene Curtis and son-in-law, Billy Sempf.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 7, 2015 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, and going in procession to Assumption B.V.M Catholic Church, 3530 Illinois St., New Chicago, for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. with a 3:30 pm Rosary at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
