Robert J. Razumich, age 88, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Aperion Care in Valparaiso. He was born in Gary, Indiana on September 6, 1928 to the late John and Mary (nee Zapcich) Razumich. Robert married the love of his life, the late, Frances M. "Babe" (nee Crnkovich) Razumich on November 26, 1953 at St. Joseph, in Gary, Indiana. Robert graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University and a Master's degree from Loyola University. He was a very active member of his church, Nativity of Our Savior, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Parish Finance Council, and a Sacristan. Robert spent his professional career with the Gary Community School Corporation, where he taught History and English as well as in administrative positions including Director of Adult Education and Director of Business and Finance. He was a past President of the American Federation of Teachers Local 4. He was also active in the retired Indiana Teachers Association and proudly served his country in the Indiana National Guard and Army Reserves for 20 years. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Razumich of Portage and Robert (Kathy) Razumich of Brownsburg, Indiana; daughter, Mary (Bob) Hileman of Portage; two grandchildren, John (Erinn) Razumich and Sheila Fennell; many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends
Robert was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; sister, Kathryn Rybicki and two brothers, John and George Razumich.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, directly at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana 46368, at 10 am, with Father Andrew J. Corona officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana.
