Robert E. Scobee, age 85 a lifetime Hobart resident passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 at the William Riley Hospice Center in Munster.  He was born on June 24, 1937 in Gary, Indiana to the late Ely and Elsie Scobee.  Robert worked for Nipsco as a Special Projects Coordinator, retiring in 1993 after over 35 years of service.  He was a longtime member of St. Bridget Church in Hobart.  Robert loved spending time with his family.  He was always taking family photos and had a passion for working on his computer.

He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Helen A. Scobee (nee Pictor) of Schererville, IN; four children, Michael (Shellie) Scobee of Elizabeth, CO; David Scobee of Denver, CO; Diane Andersen of Elgin, IL; Pattie (John) Decker of Schererville, IN; , one sister, Kathy (Jack) Gergan of MN;  grandchildren, Jennifer, Heidi, Steven, Caitlyn, Amber, Jonathan, Haley, Ryan, and Marissa, two great-grandchildren, Arya and Paul.

He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Scobee, grandson, Kyle Scobee, and son-in-law, Garry Andersen.

Funeral services are Saturday, August 27, 2022 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart and proceeding to St. Bridget Church, 107 Main Street, Hobart for a 10 a.m. Mass.  Cremation will follow the services.  Visitation is Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.  (219) 942-2109.
