ROBERT L. SPRINGMAN, age 76, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Robert was born on November 6, 1934 to John and Devere Springman. He was a lifetime Hobart resident and retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1994. Robert married Donna Stumke on September 25, 1954 in Hobart. He served his country in the US Army. He will be missed dearly.

Robert is survived by 1 son, Robert L. (Karen) Springman, Jr. of Valparaiso; 2 daughters, Deborah (Richard) Marmor of Hobart and Lisa Springman of Hobart; 2 grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Galliher and Kris Springman; 2 great grandchildren, Shane Dinelle and Colton Galliher; 2 brothers, John (Ann) Springman and Chris (Betty) Springman; other loving family and dear friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents, 2 sisters, Mary (Dencil) Knapp and Edith Mae Springman; 1 brother, Terry.

A visitation for Robert will be held from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Deep River Church of Christ, 7500 Grand Boulevard, Merrillville. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
