Robert Lee Tallent, age 57, of Wanatah, Indiana passed away Sunday December 16, 2012 in Valparaiso, Indiana at the Horton VNA Hospice Center. Robert was born April 22, 1955 in Lexington, KY. He worked for Whitcomb Trucking in Valparaiso. He served 3 years in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He was a graduate of Lake Station Edison High School and was a member of the American Legion Post #403 in Wanatah.
He is survived by one grandson Austin Tallent; his sister Alicia (Emil) Belt of Wanatah; nephew William Tallent; niece Chantell Tallent; and great nephews Blake, Ryan and Corey Papageorge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons Quentin Tallent and Jason Tallent.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday December 20, 2012 at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, IN 46368 with Dr. Phil Willingham officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9 am until service time on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Porter county VNA Hospice Foundation or to The Heartland Christian Center of Valparaiso.
