Woloszyn, Robert E., age 78, of Hobart, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home. Robert was born in Gary on April 12, 1934 and had been a long-time Hobart resident. He attended Saint Bridget Church of Hobart. Bob graduated from Tolleston High School in 1951 and served in the Army between 1956 and 1958. He retired after 24 years of service as a maintenance foreman in the Bar and Structural Division at US Steel. He was a caring father who always worked hard for his family. Bob was very enthusiastic about sports and politics. He enjoyed traveling and photographing nature.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joan (Otto); daughter, Laura (Jim) Walker of Valparaiso; son, Loren (Kelly) Woloszyn of Westville; three grandchildren, Stacy Walker, Nick and Sarah Woloszyn; two step-grandchildren, Ben Walker and Alisha (Tony) Hardin; and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Sum of Chesterton; three brothers, Joe (Donna) Sum of Mokena, IL, Andy (Sylvia) Sum of Arlington, MA; and Jack (Carol) Sum of Pleasanton, CA.
He was preceded in death by his mother Wanda Sum.
A funeral service for Robert will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342 with Rev. Andrew Corona officiating.
