ROBERT A. ZAKUTANSKY, age 73, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a lifetime area resident and retired as a supervisor from Midwest Steel. Zak was a 1955 Tolleston High School Graduate. He married Patricia May Zaborowski on October 6, 1956 at Sacred Heart Church in Gary. Robert was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Robert is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Patricia; 4 sons, William (Jennifer) of Crown Point, Steven (Jill) of Hobart, Donald (Jorie) of Kenosha, WI, David (Amy) of Noblesville; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robbie; granddaughter, Selina Zakutansky; his parents, Dorothy B. and Andrew J. Zakutansky; sister, Eleanor Blankenship and brother, Donald.

A funeral service for Robert will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., with Rev. David G. Nowak officiating.
