Robert Allen Zubik
Robert Allen Zubik "Bobby", age 56, of Gary, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017. He was born on June 20, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to LeRoy and Rita Zubik. Bobby was the nicest person you ever wanted to meet. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving soul who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved animals and dedicated his life to saving all strays. Bobby was welcomed into the afterlife by a host of grateful animals. He went to spend his eternity with his devoted German Shepherds, Hootie and Ceasar, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Rita Zubik; and one nephew, John Angelo Zervos.
Bobby is survived by his brothers, David (Tuggee) Zubik, Michael (Roseanne) Zubik, Daniel (Susan) Zubik, and Dean Zubik; sister, Leann Davenport; uncle Bill Fitzgerald; nieces and great nieces, Rita, Ashley, Destiny, Shannon, Nevaeh, Michelle, Dana, Suzie; nephews and great nephews, Michael, Robert Lee, David, Jimmy, Carmen, Timothy, Cody, Jacob, Daniel, Brian and Nicholas; many other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service for Bobby will take place Friday, December 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, IN. Memorial visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
