Roberta J. Franz

Roberta J Franz (nee Kilander), age 64, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was a past member of New Life Wesleyan Church in Chesterton. She was born on April 26, 1952 to the late Harry and Marjorie (nee Topp) Kilander in Francesville, Indiana. Roberta was very active in DAR and enjoyed quilting. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Roberta is survived by two sons, Dustin and Daniel Franz; daughter, Heather (Michael) Shannon; three grandchildren, Steven Huckabay, Sadie Shannon, and Hailee Shannon; great-granddaughter, Brooklyne Huckabay; brother, Donald Kilander and many other loving family members and friends.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Michael Franz, her parents and sister, Lorna Huckabay.
Funeral services for Roberta will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave, Portage, Indiana 46368, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
