Roberta C. Pontney
(Nee Robinson)
Age 87, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Portage surrounded by her loving family. Roberta was born on September 27, 1926 to the late Samuel and Clara (nee Topel) Robinson in Bozeman, Montana. Roberta was a retired accountant for Sebo's Nursing Home in Hobart. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Hobart and a past member of St. Ann's. She enjoyed reading and was a very talented seamstress. Roberta will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Roberta is survived by her daughter Joan Williams of Chesterton; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Liz) Williams, Kathryn (Joe) Jerrell, Angela (Mary) Williams, Megan Pontney, Shannon (Janek) Patel and Richard S. Pontney; five great-grandchildren, daughter in law Audrey Pontney of Hobart and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Pontney and her son, Richard J. Pontney.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Bridget Catholic Church would be appreciated.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Deacon Richard Huber officiating. Cremation will follow.
