ROLAND LEE PETERS, SR. age 76, of DeMotte, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point. Roland was born April 20, 1936 in Monessen, PA to Harry and Elma Peters. He was a US Army Veteran and self-employed as a car salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Peters, 3 sons, Alfred (Debbie) Peters of Portage, Victor Peters (Michelle Andriese) of Lake Village, IN and Glen Peters of Portage, 2 daughters, Dawn (Pete) Baudouine of DeMotte, Cindy (Ryan) Wireman of Wheatfield, 7 grandchildren: Derrick Butala, Dennis Butala, Keeley Peters, Jonathon Butala, Desiree Peters, Tristin Wireman and Tori Berkett, numerous great grandchildren, brother, Harry (Shirley) Peters, 4 sisters: Donna (John) Bridges, Jean Clise, Judy (Gene) Wheet and Joyce (Dennis) Walker, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, numerous nieces & nephews. Two sons, Roland Lee Peters, Jr. and Larry Peters, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11:00 am Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
