Rolland G. "Buzz" Hartford
Age 76, passed away Saturday, March 26,2011 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. Rolland was a retired 34-year Supervisor of secondary operations for Gary Screw and Bolt. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Buzz was born June 23, 1934 the son of the late Willard and Thelma Hartford. Buzz married his bride Linda (Nee Dufresne) on May 28, 1960 in Gary, Indiana. Buzz was an avid woodworker and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Buzz is survived by his loving wife of 50yrs. Linda Hartford of Hobart, daughter; Rachelle "Shelly" (Gerald) West of Merrillville, son; Steven (Caroline) Hartford of Merrillville and daughter; Melinda "Mindy" (Jeff) Ploof of Georgia, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Richard Hartford of Hobart and Kenneth (Judy) Hartford of Portage.Buzz is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; Stewart and Bruce Hartford.
Funeral Services for Buzz will be held Tuesday, March 28,2011 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Visitation will be Monday March 28,2011 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
