Ronald J. Collins

Ronald J. Collins, age 66, of Lake Station passed away Sunday April 14, 2019 at the St Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  Ronald was born February 9, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to Ronald D. and Dorothy J. (McGuinn) Collins.  Ron was a Chief General Train Dispatcher for the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad prior to retirement.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and friends.

Ronald is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Veronica of Lake Station; his two children, Ronald J. (Kristina) Collins, Jr. of Portage and Kelly Moore-Collins of Lake Station; five grandchildren,  Joseph, Christopher, Sean, Karissa and Kassandra; two brothers, Michael Collins and Patrick Collins.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy and sister, Virginia Collins.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342.  A time of sharing will follow immediately at 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
