Ronald Wayne Frechette, age 61, of Hobart, formerly of East Chicago, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana on May 21, 1956 to the late Wayne and Anne (nee Rompa) Frechette. Ron was employed with the city of East Chicago for over 20 years as a supervisor in the water department, and then later worked as a table games dealer for Ameristar Casino for 18 years, where his work family will remember him as a loved and admired friend. He was a member of First Church in Hobart, baptized on January 19, 2018. He was a great father and friend who loved fishing, cooking, and gardening and will be remembered as a strong, friendly, considerate and simple man who impacted many lives and will be dearly missed.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Ronica (Andre) Johnson; son, Wayne Ronald Frechette; step daughter, Melanie Santiago; grandchild, Logan James Frechette; brother, Thomas (Vicky) Frechette; and other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James "Jimmy" Frechette; and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Ron's honor, to First Church, 939 S. Wisconsin St. Hobart, IN 46342.
A funeral service for Ron will take place Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 5:00 pm with Pastor Jonathan Barley officiating at First Church, 939 S. Wisconsin St. Hobart, IN 46342.
