Ronald (Ronnie) E. Good, age 81, a life time resident of Lake Station formerly known as East Gary, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He attended Edison High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corp. Ronnie worked for 52yrs at the East Gary Lake Station Fire department, served 16 years as the chief, 12 years as councilman at large. He was a member of American Legion Post 100, Lions Club in Lake Station, VFW # 9323, Gold card member IVFA, State board of directors IFA and among other things helped start the ambulance service in Lake Station and was their first director. On June 4, 1955 Ronnie married the love of his life Beverley Hoskins in East Gary, Indiana. Ronnie enjoyed the senior bus trips he took around the country with his wife. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 61 yrs., Beverley Good ; also surviving are eight children, Victoria (Jerry) Hoffman, Christina (David) Hoefflicker, Kenneth Good, Karlene (Bill) Hampton, Tanya (Paul) Coffman, Michelle (Pepe) Vasquez, Ronald (Juanita) Good and (Adopted daughter) Cassie Wolfe; 14 grandchildren, Gunnar, Katie, Jeremy, Nick, Kim , Sandra, Kelly, Tony , Maggie, Cody, Joseph, Andrew, Jarad and Jafen; 10 great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Wilma (nee Hursey) Good; grandparents, Solomon and Lillian Hursey; brother, Dennis Good and grand-daughter, Nicole Crawford-Hoefflicker.

Funeral services for Ronnie will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave, Portage, Indiana 46368.Cremation will follow.
