Ronald James Turnipseed, age 55, of Lake Station, passed away suddenly Friday, June 27, 2014. He was born on October 3, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to the late Wayne and Betty Turnipseed. Ron worked as a Bricklayer and was a member of the Indiana Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kathryn Turnipseed; step children: Harry Lee Foster Jr., Steven Michael (Rose) Foster, Wendy Marie (Paul) Mason and Todd Brian (Tasha) Foster; brothers: David (Diane) Turnipseed and Timothy Turnipseed; sisters: Nancy (Chuck) Sofiak and Karen (Thomas) Tucker; step grandchildren: Erin, Emily and Allison Foster; Heather and Joey Mason and Nicholas Foster; beloved four legged children: Wolfie and Bear.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Betty Turnipseed.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana. Cremation will follow visitation.
