IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosa "Rose"
Shearer
April 16, 1929 – June 4, 2023
Rosa "Rose" Shearer, age 94 a resident of Hobart for 75 plus years, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. She was born on April 16, 1929 in Noicattaro, Italy to the late Pasquale and Santa Didonna. Throughout her life she was a volunteer on many platforms including the St. Bridget's carnival, serving as a Pink Lady volunteer at St. Mary Medical Center and Rose gave many hours of her time to the Bridal Boutique in Hobart. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Bridget's Catholic Church and served as a member of the Italian Club.
Some of the things she enjoyed in her free time would be taking care of plants and flowers. She was excellent at propagating and making them thrive. She always took care of herself from having a regular exercise routine to her nightly beauty routine. Rose enjoyed nature, sitting in the sun, good cooking and loved a good meal which was often enhanced by adding a little extra spice. Rose enjoyed traveling, she took many trips to Florida and other destinations to visit family and friends. Above all, her most cherished moments were the ones spent with family. She especially enjoyed children and babies were her absolute favorite!
Rose Shearer is survived by one daughter, Jean A. (Dennis) Schneider of Niceville, FL; grandson, Jon (Sharon) Schneider of FL; one great granddaughter, Savannah Schneider of FL; one brother, Nick (Toni) Didonna of Westville, IN; , three sisters, Bernadina (Frank) Cinquepalmi of Italy, Teresa (Late Pietro) Maggio of Hobart, IN; Maria Jackson of Lake Station, IN; sister-in-law, Diane Didonna of Dyer, IN; and brother-in-law, Dan Soria of Hobart, IN; longtime friend, Jeannie Conrad of Hobart, IN; as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren, whom all held a unique and special place in her heart.
