Age 99, a longtime resident of Lake Station passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her son; Marty (Judy) Faitak of Dyer, IN., Grandchildren; Len (Ruth) Garavalia of Stafford , VA, Marty (Sarah) Faitak of Fayettville Ark., Mark Faitak Spotsylvania, VA, Kim (Terry) Yates of Indianapolis, IN. Sherry (Mike) Wathen of Wheatfield, IN, Wendy Race of St. John, IN, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren, son in law; Leo Garavalia, many other loving family members and friends. A special thank you to Helen, Rose's caretaker, for all of her great years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband Martin Faitak, daughter Verna Garavalia,parents; Thomas (Nancy) Mazzaro, brothers; Anthony (Marcella) Mazzaro, Lewis (Evelyn) Mazzaro, sisters; Josephine (Remy) Snemis, Connie (Steve) Shiyan, and Cecelia (Virgil) Henry.
A 10 am Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, directly at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putman Street, Lake Station, Indiana 46405. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery.
