Rosetta Ann Laas, age 79, of Lake Station passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday November 9, 2024. She was born December 15,1944 in Effingham, Illinois to the late Harold and Frances (Ashenbremer) Harder. Rosetta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend. She enjoyed bowling, feeding her birds, and her Kritters. She lived for her children and grandchildren. Rosetta and her beloved husband Joseph John Laas, Sr., were former members of the fraternal Order of Eagles Glen Park Arie.
Rosetta is survived by her three loving daughters, Dawn (Donald) Janes of Lake Station, Peggy (Fred) Dancer of Hammond, and Samara (Jason Montpetit) Laas of Lake Station; her grandchildren, Ashley Laas, Nikki Laas, JJ Laas, Aubrei Laas, Kara (Ricardo) Janes, Brandon (Sam and baby on the way) Laas, Anthony (Tatyana) Laas, Kimber Janes, Christian (Madilyn) Janes, Destiny (Kyler) Montpetit, and David Whiting Dancer; great grandchildren, Clare, Esmae, and several others; four sisters, Virginia Hall, Linda (Richard) Stage, Pamela (James) Mayo, and Mary (John) Glover; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and special friend and neighbor Bill.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Joseph John Laas, Sr., two sons, Joseph John Laas, Jr. and Steven Matthew Laas: two sisters, Rita Kwasniewski and baby girl Harder; and three brothers, Robert Harder, Jerry Harder and Stanley Harder.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday November 14, 2024, at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday November 15, 2024, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery,
