Roy Eryman, age 83, of Portage, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. He was born in Gary, Indiana on January 14, 1935 to the late Samuel and Eva (nee Tyson) Eryman. Roy proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Inland Steel as a mechanical technician. Roy was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 783 in Hobart where he was a past governor and BINGO caller. He was also a member of The Bonner Senior Center where he also was a BINGO caller. Roy loved the Chicago Bulls and will be remembered as the greatest father, husband, and grandfather who will be missed my many.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary (nee Loveless/Teitge) Eryman; son, Mike (Kelly) Eryman of Westiville; daughters, Lori Stanley of Mishawaka, Judy (Mickey) Rodriguez of Lake Station; grandchildren, Dan (Amy) Stanley, Nickolas (Michelle) Deavers, Lisa Stanley, Sandra Deavers, Katie Fred, Alan Eryman, Miles Eryman; great grandchildren, Tyler, Cole, and Jase Stanley, Matthew Deavers, Isabella Harris; God daughter, Joyce Jones of Burns Harbor; special friends, Thomas and Carol Barnack; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters; one brother; two nephews; and his parents.
