Ruby Pearl Sundmacher Foster passed away November 11, 2025, at the age of 101 years old. She was born on January 7, 1924. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Most of all she was a devoted follower and servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was born in Harco, Illinois to her parents, Ruby and Herman Sundmacher. They moved to Harrisburg, Illinois after the great flood to live with her grandparents, James and Maggie Luther. That's when she was invited to the salvation Army and decided to give her life to the Lord. When she was old enough, she went to their training college and became a lieutenant. During her second appointment out of training college, she went to West Plains, Missouri where she met her husband, Elmer W. Foster. They were married in 1948 and had 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She remained an active member of the Salvation Army all her life until she was unable to serve. She loved going to all the activities of the church, i.e. ringing the bell at Christmas, Home League, women' s ministries, and women's bible study. Her favorite portrait of Jesus is the one where He is laughing. She said it showed His humanity.
