Ruby M. McGlothin, age 81, of Portage passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at home. She was born on November 17, 1941, in Illinois to the late Charles and Margaret Karnes. She loved to cook for everyone.  Ruby will always be remembered for her giving nature and dedicated her life to taking care of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Trenda (Flavel) Christensen; son, Timothy Hicks; step son, Billy McGlothin; and grandchildren, Dylan and Devin Christensen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley McGlothin; daughter, Regina LeBron; stepdaughters, Ruby Doris Bowden, Reba Smith, Patricia McKinley, Ruthann Galey; grandchildren, Ronald Weyant, Rhonda Weyant, Stephanie Weyant and Alison Weyant; brothers, Howard, James, Charles and Roger Karnes; and sister, Brenda Campbell.

A funeral service for Ruby will take place Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
