Ruth Elizabeth Kacmar, age 92, passed away August 9, 2015. She was born on November 26, 1922 in Gary, Indiana to the late Henry and Anna Keilman. She was a dedicated member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the St. Francis Solidarity in Lake Station.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith (John) Gentry; daughter in law, Dawn Kacmar; sister in law, Betty DiNatele; grandchildren, Skip Gentry, Hank (Angie) Gentry, Eve (Derek) Simpson, Jack Kacmar; great grandchildren, Eric (Mikie) Kacmar, Zachary Benson, Peyton Benson, Henry Gentry; great great grandson, Thor Michael Kacmar; many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Keilman; husband, John A. Kacmar; sons, John J. Kacmar, Jeffrey Kacmar; great granddaughter, Alyssa Benson; brothers, Jerome Keilman, Tom Keilman, John Keilman; sisters, Mary Margaret Antzack, Helen Mattes, Dorothy Carter, Rita Mann.
A funeral service for Ruth will take place Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
