RUTH VIOLET KEGEBEIN, age 73, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at home. Ruth was born on June 20, 1939 to the late Ernie and Lily Bridges. She was a longtime NW Indiana resident coming from Burford, England. Ruth was a very active member of St. Barnabas of the Dunes and a volunteer at the Sojourner Truth House. Ruth will be deeply missed.

Ruth is survived by her son, Neal Albert Kegebein; 3 daughters, Susan Elaine Socket, Colleen Joy Nofsinger, Katherine Ellen Davis; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Kegebein, Stephen Nofsinger, Lori (Jonathan) Scheel, Sierra Violet Socket; brother-in-law, Terry Kegebein; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glenn Kegebein; son, Wayne Allen Kegebein; son-in-law, Greg Socket; 3 sisters, Barbara Musty, Betty Waters, Stella Thompson.

A visitation for Ruth will be Friday, March 22, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. A funeral service will be Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas of the Dunes, 601 Pottawatomi Trail, Gary, 46403, with Fr. Mike Dwyer officiating. There will be additional visitation on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
