Ruth Nina Martin, age 91, of Valparaiso passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Ruth was born the oldest of 13 children in Hoxie, Arkansas to the late Perry and Ruth (nee Johnson) Hutton on April 21, 1929. Ruth married the love of her life, the late George E. Martin Sr. on January 31, 1953 in Valparaiso and dedicated her life to her family.  She was an active member of United Pentecostal Church. She will be dearly missed.

Ruth is survived by her children, two sons, George E. (Sharon L.) Martin Jr., David A. (Mary C.) Martin; daughter, Jacqueline S. (Richard A.) Barker nine sibling, Doris, Perry, Mary Mable, Waymond (Jackie) Sharon (Reggie) Levi, Rachel, Shirley (Robert) and Elizabeth; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; infant son, James Martin; her parents; and three siblings, Alice, James and Jerry.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 from 11 am -1pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368.

Funeral services and burial will be held privately  also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
