RUTH M. OROS, age 92, of Winfield, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026. She was born in East Chicago on February 17, 1934. Ruth was a graduate of E.C. Roosevelt High School. Ruth and her late husband were co-owners of Sibley Jewelers in Hammond from 1975 to 1983. She worked for many years as a secretary at the People’s Bank Munster corporate office. Ruth was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Ruth is survived by her 3 children, Paul (Joni) Oros, Veronica Oros, and Regina (Robert) Myers; 4 grandchildren, Candice (Rob) Doty, Christopher (Megan) Myers, Victor (Molly) Oros, and David (Stephanie) Oros; 5 great grandchildren, Michael Doty, Grace Doty, Blake Myers, Ford Myers and Lucy Oros; sister, Peggy Pozywio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Oros; parents, Clarence and Emily Pagorek; and sisters, Joan Fanta and Marlene Spoljaric.

Mass of Christian Burial and burial of cremains to be scheduled for a later date.
