Nee Oswald
,age 83, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 1,1928 to the late Elmer and Edith Oswald in Chicago, IL. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mother's Circle, Altar Guild, LWML and Pink Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her family, children James Worthington, Carol (Robert) Schickel of Chicago, IL, Nancy (Michael) Lashenik of Hobart, Thomas (Doris) Worthington of Crown Point, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Elmer Oswald, and husband of 38 years, Robert Worthington.
Funeral Service for Ruth will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart, with Pastor Gary S. Nagy officiating. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday January 6,2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Memorials in Ruth's memory can be made to LWML or to Calvary Mission Outreach.
