Ruth Ann Zakrzewski, age 72 of Portage passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. She was born on March 20, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William and Josephine Hojnacki.. She was a longtime Hammond resident and a former member of the Black Oak Baptist Church. Ruth worked at R.R. Donnely as a Mailroom Supervisor.

She is survived by her significant other, Marty Marvin of Portage, IN; 2 daughters, Carolyn Schram of Hammond, IN; Cathy (Victor) Maciejewski of Hammond, IN; 2 brothers, William (Late Joan) Hojnacki of St. John, IN; Robert (Gina) Hojnacki of Mokena, IL; 1 sister, Linda (Jay) Franjella of Highland, IN; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas,Julie,Melissa,Eddie, and Emily, 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Draven, and Diem.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Ruth's honor may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital.
