Sally J. Davis (nee Hetzel), age 75, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Avalon Springs in Valparaiso. Sally was born on July 6, 1939 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. She was a retired Food Service Manager at Zaryes. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Griffith. She enjoyed reading, Bingo and gardening and being with family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly S. Michnik of Hobart, Suzette (Randal) Davis-Young of Hobart; brother, Terry Crocker of Murfreesboro, TN; grandson, Nathan Benante; 2 granddaughters, Rebecca (Matthew) Oden and Gabrielle Potts; 2 great granddaughters, Savannah Oden and Summer Oden; 1 great grandson, Izik Contreraz and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Murial Crocker and father, George Carl Hetzel; son-in-law, Alex Michnik; three granddaughters, Racheal, Taren and Amy Michnik; brother, Micheal Crocker and sister, Sandra Snyder. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred to the family.
A memorial service for Sally will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. from the VFW Post #9323, 2750 Central Avenue, Lake Station, IN 46405.
