Samuel Wayne Mocabee

Samuel Wayne Mocabee, age 61 of Wheatfield and formerly of South Haven passed away March 10, 2026, at home alongside his faithful companion, his dog Diesel. He was born on February 5, 1965, in Kentucky to the late Mack “Tom” and Brenda Mocabee. 

He was a proud 32 nd Degree Mason and retired from Carpenter’s Union Local #1 after many years of dedicated work. Sam will always be remembered as a hardworking man and an amazing father. He built his home himself and enjoyed tending to vegetables and fruit trees in his garden. Sam never judged anyone and would do anything to help others.

He is survived by his daughter, Mallory (Nandy) Flores; son, Matt Mocabee; grandson, Liam Mocabee; brothers, Greg (Kecia) Mocabee and Tim (Cheri) Mocabee; sister, Angie (Jackie) Crump; nieces and nephews, T.J., Jeremy, Todd, Dena, Jayla, and Dylan; ex-wife, Charlene Mocabee; mother-in-law, Virginia Mitckess; several loving in-laws including brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews; lifelong best friends, Winfred (Tammy) Gibbs, Bubb Payton, Tokes Tylka, Mark Criswell, and Tony Hughes; and many loving family members and many lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack “Tom” and Brenda Mocabee.

Sam will be laid to rest at McCool Cemetery in a private ceremony.
