Sanda Farley

Sanda Faye Farley (nee Fields), age 71 of Hobart passed away October 13, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1954, in Gary, Indiana to the late Leroy and Velma Fields. On October 21, 1976, she married Donald Farley in Valparaiso. Sanda retired from Bethlehem Steel where she worked as a machine operator for 35 years. She was a pragmatic woman with a heart of gold. She loved Christmas and enjoyed crocheting. Above all, she loved her family and cherished spending time with her grandson.

Sanda is survived by her son, Thomas (Kim) Farley; grandson, Malachi Applington; siblings, Linda (Rick) Jaso, Joyce Ann Fields, Lee (William) Wathen, Ralph Eugene Fields; and numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews and family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Farley; granddaughter, Taylor Farley; sister, Carol Ferguson.

Visitation for Sanda will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. A funeral service will take place Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
