Sandra "Sandy" Childs, age 72 of Hobart passed away in her home Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Sandy was born April 20, 1950, in Paris, Illinois to the late Donald and Eleanor (Baker) Sanders. She retired from St Mary Medical Center where she worked as a Registration Clerk. She loved her family deeply and will be missed. Sandy enjoyed gardening, she was a bookworm, and she loved her dogs.

Sandy is survived by her loving children, Christopher Childs of Hobart and Corie (Jerry) Stuffle of Crown Point; five grandchildren, Joshua Stuffle, Jacob Stuffle, Willow Childs, Meadow Childs, and Christopher Childs, Jr.; and four adopted grandchildren, Nickolas Hernandez, Alexander Hernandez, Jillian Sherrard, and Jessica Sherrard.

Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-four years Dwayne "DC" Childs; her parents; her granddaughter, Emma Childs; and two brothers, Claude Sanders and Charles Sanders.

A Memorial Visitation for Sandy will be held Sunday May 1, 2022, from 4-6 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342. Her Memorial Service will follow immediately at 6 pm at the Funeral Home.
