Sandra Diann Higgins

Sandra D. (nee Goodman) Higgins, age 69, of Hobart, passed away Sunday March 12, 2017. She was born on November 23, 1947 in Plymouth, Indiana to the late William and Betty (Slonaker) Goodman. On March 10, 1979, she married the love of her life, Robert Higgins, Sr. Sandi was employed as a Meat Packer for Key Market in Harvey, Illinois. She was a member of the American Legion Post #100 Ladies Auxiliary in Lake Station, Hobart VFW Post 5365 Auxiliary and the Meat Packers Union. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, bingo and going to the boats. Above all, she loved her granddaughters and cherished the time she spent with them.

Sandi is survived by her loving husband, Bob Higgins of Hobart; son, Robert (Coralee) Higgins, Jr. of Valparaiso; granddaughters, Hannah Grace Higgins and Morgan Hope Higgins; brothers, Joe (Debbie) Goodman of Rochester, Dean (Catherine) Goodman of Hobart, Bruce (Dina) Goodman of Fishers; sister, Debbie Goodman of Hobart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Goodman.

A funeral service for Sandi will take place Friday March 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with pastor Scott Marshall officiating. Visitation for Sandi will be held, Thursday March, 16 2017 from 4 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to Sandi's family.
