Sandra K. Hunt, age 81, a longtime Hobart resident formerly of Lake Station passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023.  She was born on May 1, 1942, in Gary, Indiana to the late Donald and Catherine Brimmer.   She was a member of Living Hope Church in Portage, a longtime member of TOPS, and liked volunteering at the Portage Resale Shop.  Sandy also loved her dogs and enjoyed sewing, decorating cakes, and cooking.  She adored teaching children in Sunday School and other church activities, and was known to be very friendly, accepting, and social to all people.

She is survived by her children, Anita Cain of MD; Krisandra (Judy) Hunt of South Bend, IN; John K. (Jennifer)  Hunt of Hobart, IN; one brother, Skip (Ruth) Brimmer of Olathe, KS; four grandchildren, Michelle (John) Jefferson Hunt, Jessica (partner, Nico) Hunt, Jeremy (fiancé, Mandy) Hunt, and Julianne Hunt, great-grandchildren, Makenna, Rebecca, Maddox, Scarlett, and Valentina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hunt in 1994, and one brother, Donald Brimmer.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Sandra's honor may be made to the Hobart Humane Society, 2054 East St. Road 130, Hobart, IN  46342.

Cremation will take place with Rees Funeral Home and Cremation Service.  A memorial service for Sandra will be Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Rev. Ken Miller officiating.  Memorial visitation is just prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
