Sandra "Sandie" K. Comer, age 79, of Winfield, passed away August 2, 2018 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on July 5, 1939 to the late Edward J. and Bertha E. (nee Litteken) Comer. Sandie was the Director of Radiology at Methodist Hospital for 25 years then later was the Director of Radiology at St. Mary Medical Center for 5 years. She was the President and a life member of the Steel City Kennel Club. Sandie loved people, dogs, and collecting antiques. She will be remembered as a generous woman who never knew a stranger and will be greatly missed by her dear friends.

Sandie is survived by her best friend, Elaine Erickson; dear friend, Sister Loretta Schleper, PHJC; loved ones, Marilyn Engle, Robert (Linda) Erickson and family, Jennifer (Tim) Jenkins, and nephews, Steven and Cody.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Sandie's honor, to the Sojourner Truth House, 410 W 13th Ave, Gary, IN 46407.

A funeral mass for Sandie will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 beginning at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Crown Point, IN 46307 with 10:30 prayers then proceeding to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E. 109 ^th Ave. Crown Point, IN 46307 for 11:00 am Mass with Rev.
