Sandra Otero

Sandra Otero, age 62, of Lake Station passed away Saturday April 20, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1961, in ­­Gary, Indiana to the late Amelio Sr and Liduvina Gonzalez.

Sandra married her loving husband Robert Otero in 1981 and spent 42 years of marriage together and raised three beautiful children. She was a member of St Francis Xavier Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and caring for them. She enjoyed cooking and dancing. She will be remembered for her caring and selfless heart. She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Sandra's life will be forever cherished by her family that, until her passing, spanned three generations.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert Otero; her sons, Robert (Melissa) Otero and Ryan Otero; her grandchildren, Liliana (Brian), Isabella, Analissa, Tatyana (Christian), and Elicia "Ellie"; her great grandson, Watson; her sisters, Alma Gonzalez, Nora (Hugo) Bravo, Anita Cartagena; her brother, Albert Gonzalez; her sister-in-laws, Silquia Otero, Gricelle Cardona, and Olga Ortiz.

She is preceded by her daughter Monique Otero; her parents, Amelio and Liduvina Gonzalez; her brothers, Amelio Gonzalez Jr. and Ruben Gonzalez; and her brother-in-law, Ed Cartagena.

A visitation for Sandra will be held Monday April 29, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave Lake Station, Indiana 46405. A funeral service will be held Monday April 29, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. For more information, please call (219) 962-1606.
