Sandy R. Hostetter

Age 79, a resident of Hobart for the last 7 yrs. and formerly of LOFS for 38 yrs. passed away April 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 17,1943 to the late James H. and Norma (nee Wine) Johnson in South Bend, Indiana. She was a 1961 Walkerton High School graduate. On August 19, 1961, Sandra married the love of her life Jerry L. Hostetter in Walkerton, Indiana. Sandy was a decorator who "tweaked" everything, a talented Acrylic Artist who Loved Arts and Crafts and the past President of the LOFS gardening club. She enjoyed festivals, concerts, Country Music and never saw a flower she didn't like. Above all she loved her family and enjoyed traveling with Jerry.  She will be remembered as a "Loyal" and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Sandra never met a stranger.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 yrs. Jerry Hostetter; three sons, Steve (Rhonda) Hostetter, Tim (Brigitte) Hostetter and Tom Hostetter; daughter, Tammy  (Ken) Kain; brother, Daniel (Doris) Johnson; two sisters, Sally (Dan) McClure and Susan (Billy) McClure; eleven grandchildren, Kyle, Kaila (Wes), Amber (Cole), Cory (Jessica), Amy (Nick), Ryan, Megan, Cole (Magan), Alec (Tori), Clay and Chloe; six great grandchildren, Kyler, Eli, Piper, Skylar, Liam and Alli Rae and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Johnson; father, James H. Johnson and two sisters, Andrea, and Cindy Johnson.

Visitation for Sandy will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. with a 3:00 p.m. funeral service at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
