Sara "Sally" Kay Trethewey, age 76, of Miller passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Michigan City. Sara was born July 19, 1940 in Gary, Indiana to the late Grady and Mildred (Vasbinder) Lancaster. She was a former meat wrapper for Weiss Grocery and cashier at The Beach Pharmacy. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Sara is survived by her daughter Kandace (Ron) Vicker of The Pines; her son Gifford (Debbie) Trethewey of Duluth, MN; one grandson William Trethewey, and many nieces and nephews.

Sara was preceded in death by her loving husband William J. Trethewey, her parents, three siblings Vivian "Dee" Graham, Joann Bagnell, and Robert Lancaster.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday October 5, 2016 at Calvary Cemetery 2701 Willowdale Road Portage, Indiana 46368 with Pastor Mark Dicken officiating. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel assisted with funeral services.
