Sarah L. Farthing

SARAH LOUISE (CADLE) FARTHING, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022.  She was born on December 7, 1925 in Charleston, WV.  On May 5, 1951, Sarah married Roy Farthing, Jr., who preceded her in death.  Roy and Sarah founded WAFFCO Heavy Duty Recovery in 1972.  Sarah lived in Portage for over 60 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Sarah is survived by her son, Kevin (Patty) Farthing; grandchildren, Sarah (Clayton) Thrush, Daniel (Jessica) Farthing, Frankie Joe Craig, Dana Burney and Lee Hunt; 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Effie Cadle; brother, Bill Cadle; daughter, Donna Hunt; grandson, Richard Burney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Center of the Willows, 1000 Elizabeth Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383.

There will be a visitation for Sarah on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. A funeral service will be Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery.  Please go online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
