SCOTT GRISHKA, age 59, of Tampa, formerly of Lake Station, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2013. He is survived by his daughters, Amanda (Sonny) Poskie of Valparaiso and Amy Lee of Wheatfield; 4 grandchildren; father, Frank S. Grishka; He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Grishka. He will be remembered during his father's funeral service on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
FRANK S. "Greek" GRISHKA, age 82, of Okeechobee, FL, formerly of Lake Station, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 11, 2013. Frank was born on October 10, 1931 in East Gary to the late Joseph and Dorothy Grishka. He was a 1950 graduate of East Gary Edison High School. Frank worked as a supervisor for the Budd Co. and retired after 30 years of service. He was an avid trapper and fisherman, having once served as a Predator Control for the Lake County. He belonged to the Croatian League. Frank will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Steven Grishka of Portage and David Grishka of Lake Station; 2 daughters, Terry (Joe) Fisher of Calumet City and Kathryn (Gary) Larsen of Okeechobee, FL; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Maxey of Brunswick, GA; brother-in-law, Victor Silaghi of Lake Station; many nieces and nephews and other loving family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; son, Scott; brothers and sisters, Stanley and Walter Grishka and Josephine Sprusansky, Jenny Majka, and Evelyn Silaghi.
A visitation for Frank will be Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. with Pastor Shannon Stringer officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, (219) 942-2109 or go online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
