Scott Michael Strong, Sr., age 48, of Portage, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 after a long illness. He was born on October 22, 1967 in Woodstock, Illinois to William and Patricia Strong. Scott was an avid sports fan. His favorite team to watch was the Chicago Cubs.

Scott is survived by his son, Scott M. Strong Jr.; daughter, Heather L. Strong; mother, Patricia R. Strong; father, William K. Strong; sisters, Robin (John Mancilla) Strong, April (Cesar) Sanchez; several loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Strong and Dennis Strong. Memorial contributions in Scott's name may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.

A funeral service for Scott will take place Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph Street, Winfield/ Crown Point, IN 46307 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
