Sharon Rae Bailey, age 79, of Hobart, IN, passed away with her husband by her side on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Sharon was born in Gary, IN on April 19, 1944 to the late Howard and Lucile (nee Taylor) Spero.  She attended Hobart High School and later earned her diploma.  Sharon married the love of her life, Earl "Jack" Bailey on June 15, 1961 and spent 62 wonderful years together.  They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Sharon is survived by her husband: Earl; daughters: Julie Bailey and Kari (Michael) Mayer; and siblings: Dennis (Joanne) Spero, Debby (Shaun) Skeffington, and Howard (Bethany) Spero; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents: Howard and Lucile Spero.

Sharon enjoyed reading Stephen King novels, fishing, shopping, hunting for collectables, and plunking a coin into the slot machine!  She was an amazing cook and even better pie maker.  What Sharon treasured the most was being a wife and mother and spending time with her family.

Sharon was a proud, devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 1:00-5:00 P.M.  A funeral service will be held at Rees Hobart Chapel on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Nathan Kramer officiating. Sharon will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
