Sharon L. Carpenter

Age 78, of Valparaiso passed away Sunday morning at Addison Pointe in Chesterton. She was born October 4, 1945, to the late Harold and Alice Jean (nee Baxter) Fitzgerald. Sharon was a proud retired bus driver for Valparaiso Schools for over 30 years, she would talk about her kids on the bus, and how much she enjoyed seeing them grow. She loved spending time with her family and the daily visits from her son. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Freddie (Chrissie) Oestreich; daughter, Shelia (Jim) Howard; five grandchildren, Rachael and Devin, Cory, Jeremy, and Jason; seven great grandchildren, Bailey , Annabell, Cheverly, Bailey, Kaden and Klohoe; sister-in-law Cindy Fitzgerald; best friend, Mary Sandburg and many other loving family members and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Carpenter; her parents; brother, Charles "Bob" Fitzgerald and nephew, Brent Fitzgerald.

Per Sharon's wishes there will be no services held.
