Sharon Lee Fields, age 64, a longtime resident of Northwest Indiana passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was born on April 17, 1946 in Blue Island, Illinois the daughter of James and Birdie Starr. Sharon was married to Joel Fields on September 25, 1964 in Harvey. Sharon was a retired school nurse for the Hobart Township Schools. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Hammond. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and organizing. Her great love and legacy was her grandkids, taking care of her family, her service, and her warm and wonderful hospitality.

Sharon is survived by her loving family; husband Joel Fields, Hammond, son Ken (Debbie) Fields, San Antonio, Texas, Lisa (Joe) Gann, Iowa Park, Texas, DeAnne (Dale) Beauvais, Hammond, and Andrea (Danny) Quick, Hobart, 16 grandchildren, Emily (Tim), Carly, Conner, Carson, Sawyer, Darcy, Deyton, Tanner, Tyson, Myles, Garett, Jayna, Landon, Alec, and Weston, brothers Jimmy Starr, Wichita Falls, Texas, Bob (Laura) Starr, Fort Wayne, and Dale (Angie) Starr, Chicago, Illinois, sisters Janet (John) Hoyne, Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, and Sandra (Tom) Cahill, Port Charlotte, Florida, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jerry Starr.

A visitation for Sharon Fields will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service for Sharon Fields will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Chumbley, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Memorials in Sharon's memory may be made to Blue Skies Hospice.
