Obituary

Like a beautiful butterfly, we awaken into life. We struggle, then we flourish, we try to spread beauty and joy to those around us.

SHARON A. KAWOHL was born on June 2, 1945 to Elmer and Lucy Crawford. She passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at home. Sharon was a longtime Hobart resident coming from Illinois, and was employed at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso as a pharmacy tech for over 20 years. She was a very active community theatergoer and avid writer of poetry. She loved dance and music, and especially David Tolley classical music. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, the bond between her and her grandchildren, and for her love of life and all its simplicity.

Sharon is survived by her 4 daughters, Valerie (Chuck) Horn, Karen (Ed) Broadaway all of Hobart, Mandy Kawohl and Angela Jezuit both of Whiting; 5 grandchildren, Kerrigan, Dylan, Jackson, Meghan, and Blake; 1 brother, Louis (Helen) Crawford of Crete, IL; other loving family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nick Crawford and 2 sisters, Ruth Koch and Mary Hopkins.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel with Rev. John Hurt officiating. A memorial visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.

When the butterfly accomplishes all these things, it goes away and it's true beauty is never really forgotten.
